The Seychelles’ inner islands are ancient granite, unlike the coral atolls found elsewhere in the Indian Ocean. Rare coco de mer palms grow in the Vallée de Mai on Praslin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When to go
The calm months between trade winds, around April to May and October to November, bring warm, clear water for swimming and snorkelling.
How we would plan it
We link two or three islands by small plane or boat, including La Digue, where the bicycle is still the most natural way to get around.
